SR509 Completion Project Phase I Complete
SeaTac drivers have access to a new route today connecting I5 and 24th Avenue South. This is the first segment of the SR509 Completion Project, a long overdue connection between the existing SR 509 and I5. The new highway will provide more efficient routes for residents, commuters, and freight, and it will keep traffic off our neighborhood streets.

Lake to Sound Trail Opening
This segment of trail represents a great new resource for the people of SeaTac, and it will provide a new connection between SeaTac and Burien. It is just one of several major ongoing parks and open space projects SeaTac including Des Moines Creek Park and North SeaTac Park, which Mayor Egal and his colleagues are working to preserve for future generations.

Des Moines Creek Park Improvements
Mayor Egal and his colleagues broke ground May 31 for big improvements to Des Moines Creek Park. In addition to ongoing work restoring parkland, the City of SeaTac began work on a new trailhead and parking, which will improve access to this gem of a park, which connects SeaTac and our neighbors to the Puget Sound shoreline.

The State of the City
“It is about care” said Mayor Egal, “care for our environment, for sharing the spaces that bring us together, and most of all, care for one another.”
